UI Github Server Experiencing Issues

There seems to be issues again with the Github service not working for users. We are aware of it and are working with vendor support staff to get this resolved. As of now, we do not have a time estimate when this would be resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

On Wednesday, our Github Support team worked with Vendor (Github Enterprise) to do a full blown analysis of the outage. We decided to perform a full system restore of the service. After allowing the service to run overnight, we believe that the the issues have been resolved. We will still monitor the health of the service to make sure that there are no issues. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to its-help-github@uiowa.edu

There are connectivity and push, pull, fetch issues happening to the users. We are investigating the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience to the users. We will update the page when it is resolved.

The server lost access to the repositories again. We are working on fixing the issue and will update this page when it is done.

The data copying was successful and additional testing will be done this morning and once the tests are successful the GitHub server will be released to the users.

We now know the issue and the server will be brought back to the state it was at midnight between Friday and Saturday. We will update this page once the maintenance is done.

Beginning late Saturday users were not able to access the Github Server (https://github.uiowa.edu). As of today morning the users were able to access the server but were not able to push, pull or fetch anything from the server. We are aware of the situation and are working towards fixing the issue. We will update the page once the issue is fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
