At approximately 11:30 /nfsscratch became non-responsive on Argon.  HPC Team is investigating the issue and will announce updates.

The license server for the Intel compilers will be updated at 9 AM on May 30, 2019. The Intel compilers may be unavailable for a few minutes while the update takes place.

We are aware that some people are experiencing code crashes after the update to CentOS-7.5 during the May 2019 HPC maintenance. We are currently trying to identify the issue and determine corrective actions. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

During the last month Argon system performance has at times been adversely affected by storage performance. These performance issues are generally related to high utilization on home accounts and/or /nfsscratch. At a high level these issues are largely a result of three factors:

/nfsscratch space is currently at less than 10TB. If you have large amounts of data stored on /nfsscratch we encourage you to take some time to delete data.
